SERVE OTHERS AND MAKE JESUS KNOWN
Highlights from LA 2024
Local and Global Missions
-
We believe mission starts right here. Through partnerships with local organizations and outreach efforts, we serve our neighbors by meeting practical needs, building relationships, and sharing the hope of Jesus in our own community.
-
We are committed to making Jesus known to the ends of the earth. Through prayer, giving, and going, we support global partners who are planting churches, caring for vulnerable communities, and proclaiming the gospel across the world.

GIVE TO THE MISSION
Supporting missions through giving is crucial for Norman Bible Church to fulfill the Great Commission given by Jesus. Contributions play a vital role in spreading the gospel both locally and globally, enabling the Norman Bible Church to minister to people in need, provide practical assistance, and share the message of hope and love. By giving to missions, individuals have the opportunity to impact lives, reach the unreached, and demonstrate God's love in tangible ways. Your support helps transform communities, bring salvation to the lost, and build up believers worldwide, making a lasting difference for the kingdom of God.

What is Bridges?
Bridges began in response to a growing number of homeless teens in Norman during the early 1990s—students facing serious family crises like incarceration, death, or homelessness of their parents. At the time, state law prevented these students from attending school without a legal guardian, leaving them vulnerable and without resources. Thanks to the work of the Mayor’s Task Force on Youth Homelessness, the law was changed in 1993. By 1995, Bridges (formerly ILSY) became a nonprofit dedicated to helping these students graduate by providing stable housing, food, clothing, life skills, and support services.
In 2001, Bridges opened student housing near Norman North High School, and in 2005, a student center was added through community partnership. Today, Bridges serves over 50 students each year, helping them stay in school and avoid falling through the cracks. Bridges is a United Way of Norman agency, funded by rent, grants, and donations.

What is CarePortal?
CarePortal is a technology platform that connects local churches to real-time needs of children and families in crisis—shared by child welfare professionals. When a need is entered into the system, participating churches are notified and can step in to provide practical support like beds, clothing, groceries, or rent assistance.By meeting physical needs, the Church becomes a bridge to hope, stability, and long-term care—often helping to prevent foster care placements, support reunification, or care for vulnerable families in meaningful ways.
